I started this blog in 2004 when I walked my first Camino in Spain. Since that time I've walked two others, the links are to the left. In between, I've travelled throughout Europe and Africa and most recently the US. I'll be embarking on another long distance walk on the Florida Scenic Train, starting in March of 2019.

Return to Riga
Back in Riga for a week before heading back to the US. I'm meeting up with third cousin Itena, who I met for the first time last spring. Also meeting second cousin Karlis, who was born in the states but has lived in Riga for quite a few years now. He and I may have met as kids when my grandmother and his both lived in Chicago.

Muleteering to Bakers Taberna
My last hike in Spain was quite memorable as our group of about 30 plus two mules headed up to the spot where generations of Garcia family members celebrated the New Year. The mules carried our lunch and the two young girls hitched a ride part way. John played his guitar and sang some Celtic ballads while we ate homemade bread, goat cheese and boar sausages.
