I started this blog in 2004 when I walked my first Camino in Spain. Since that time I've walked two others, the links are to the left. In between, I've travelled throughout Europe and Africa and most recently the US. I'll be embarking on another long distance walk on the Florida Scenic Train, starting in March of 2019.

The Tripod Rock, Kalk Bay
We hired Dean for the day to take Adele and I for a trek up above Kalk Bay to the Tripod Rovk. The day was hot and clear and the views of the harbor and surrounding area were glorious. The spring flowers were in bloom and we couldn't have asked for a better day. The rock which resembles a giant tortoise is literally suspended on three legs. Each pair creates an arch which aligns with the summer and winter solstices. Dean Liprini's book, Pathways to the Sun, is his life's work on these sacred sites and their significance astrilogicslly, archaeologically and spiritually.

These photos of the Cape region are most interesting. I really like all the huge rocks.
