Steenburg Winery

Back to Capetown where the tour has ended. Adele and I are staying at the Hotel Glencairn for the rest of our time here. We took advantage of the train and hopped on for a ride up the coast to have breakfast in Kalk Bay. It's a pretty little fishing village with lots of shops and restaurants. The harbor supports boats bringing in the catch of the day, do we plan to come back for a fish dinner this week.

While conversing with the waitress and a couple next to us, we decided to head for wine country and got an Uber driver in about ten minutes. This is my first Uber experience and it sure is handy to get one of the Uber drivers for an inexpensive ride around town.  According to our driver there are 7000 registered drivers in the Csoetown area. On a good day he can get 20 or more passengers, averaging about $8 per ride.

We arrived at Steenburb Winery and decided on a wine tasting.  I wasn't that impressed with the wines based on what we'd already tasted during our month here in South Africa. We ended the afternoon with a nice lunch and then caught another Iber ride back to our hotel.
