Ethnographic Musrum

The beautiful spring weather brought droves of people out to the open air museum showing how Latvians lived centuries ago. There was a huge fair going on there this weekend and I took a local bus, normally taking 45 minutes. No one was getting off the bus so we were packed in like sardines, standing room only as new people got on board.

There was a massive field packed with food vendors and a cold beer was exactly what I needed as a respite from the arts and crafts vendors selling everything Latvian.  Music filled the air and girls in ethnic costumes strolled by. This was higher quality stuff from that sold at the Christmas markets.  Many craftsmen showing how they still use traditional techniques.
