This park is under the National Park service bit only has a Lakeshore designation, whatever that means. It’s still one of the most unique places I’ve visited. On the south shore of Lake Superior, it has sand dunes, waterfalls, forest and amazing cliffs of sandstone that have formed arches, caves and shows the deposits made over the millennia. Although I hiked a fair bit of it, the best way to see the park is by boat. The town of Munising at the south end of the park doesn’t have much to offer and closes down in the winter, due to the extreme weather conditions.
