Carnival in Frigiliana

Frigiliana celebrated it's Carnival on Saturday with an evening parade followed by festivities in the Plaza Tres Cultures, which is directly opposite my apartment.  They partied well past midnight.  The Plaza is a relatively new addition to Frigiliana and offers a variety of events throughout the year.  Market day is every Thursday and vendors sell their goods every week.  The big event is the festival of three cultures in August, when they celebrate Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.  .  All three cultures have occupied the area sometime in the distant past.  How great it is that they can put their past behind them and celebrate the different cultures that have shaped this land and its people.
