I started this blog in 2004 when I walked my first Camino in Spain. Since that time I've walked two others, the links are to the left. In between, I've travelled throughout Europe and Africa and most recently the US. I'll be embarking on another long distance walk on the Florida Scenic Train, starting in March of 2019.

Marrakech
I have a full day of sightseeing today and visited the Palace Ben Youssef, an ancient palace in the traditional Moroccan style and the Palace Bahia, a more contemporary palace. Then for a change of pace I took a taxi to Jardin Majorelle, famous for its association with Yves St Laurent, the French fashion designer. He and his partner bought the gardens in the early 80's to save them from ruin. There's now a Foundation on his name and a memorial was built in 2008 after he died. Very tranquil and a good place to get my first cup of coffee since arriving in Morocco. I love the mint tea, but after a while the sweet, minty taste can use a change.
