I started this blog in 2004 when I walked my first Camino in Spain. Since that time I've walked two others, the links are to the left. In between, I've travelled throughout Europe and Africa and most recently the US. I'll be embarking on another long distance walk on the Florida Scenic Train, starting in March of 2019.

Montsegur
Our last day in Cathar country and the weather turned sunny for our ascent up Montsegur. We're at the base of the Pyrenees, at about 3000' elevation. The hills are green and we hear cowbells in the distance. Reminds me of my first days walking the Camino in 2014. Such fond memories of setting out on my first Camino. Montsegir is another former Cathar fortress set high atop a mountain. There's not much remaining of the old city but we watched a film using simulation and modeling to show what it might have looked like in its day.
