Oviedo-Escamplero-Grado

I arrived from Santander to Ovirdo, visited the Carhedral, had lunch and set off on the Camino. It took forever to get out of the city before heading into the hills. The scenery here is stunning--lush green hillsides dotted with farms and grazing cows.  Meeting a few other pilgrims along the way.  My first night in Escamplero I had the whole place to myself. Here in Grado  there are five others so far. The hospitaliero is from New Jersey and 75 years young. She walked her first Camino in 2003 and has been hospitaliero' ing ever since.

Cathedral in Oviedo

A comforting sight.
