Charming Chartres

Chartres just outside of Paris was just the perfect antidote to weeks of travellimg in the midst of tourist season.  Things are settling down in Europe or at least they seem to be here. No long lines, crowds, bicycles to dodge, you get the picture.

Because of the prominence of the cathedral, lots of attention is devoted to the stained glass. A museum and school devoted to the history and current practice was truly inspiring.  I was a stained glass hobbyist for many years and it was nice to see the art taken to a new level.
