One of the tallest peaks in the area, over 5000’ is a popular hike with the tourists. It’s a short hike, but very steep with 360 degree views, so is quite breathtaking. It’s a short distance from Asheville up the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of the most scenic drives I’ve experienced. There are many pullouts for picture taking. It was a pretty hazy and overcast day, just adding to the atmosphere. I had a late lunch at the Pisgah Inn, known for their fresh trout. I had a walnut crusted trout with blueberry butter. Delicious!!
I started this blog in 2004 when I walked my first Camino in Spain. Since that time I've walked two others, the links are to the left. In between, I've travelled throughout Europe and Africa and most recently the US. I'll be embarking on another long distance walk on the Florida Scenic Train, starting in March of 2019.
